Matt Agnes  PE

With 30 years of experience at Clark Nexsen, Matt Agnes leads the Bridge Engineering and Inspection Practice Area, managing contracts for bridge engineering and inspection, including NBIS safety inspections for bridges, culverts, and traffic devices. His project management expertise encompasses developing detailed schedules and fee proposals for municipal bridge inventory inspections, as well as rehabilitation or replacement projects for individual structures.

As a certified NBIS Team Leader, Matt is responsible for conducting inspections and load ratings for various structures. His inspection expertise spans routine and detailed evaluations of highway structures with diverse materials and configurations, involving collaboration with multiple transportation agencies.

Matt demonstrates proficiency in AASHTO LRFD design standards, VDOT policies, and office protocols. He utilizes various software tools, including AASHTOWare Bridge Rating (formerly VIRTIS), BARS, CONSPAN, DESCUS, and STAAD. Additionally, Matt has been a key resource for municipalities, assisting with applications for State of Good Repair funding.
