Danny Walker AIA, DBIA
As a principal with more than 40 years of experience, Danny Walker offers extensive technical expertise to colleagues throughout the firm and plays a key role in our Public Safety practice. He offers his clients in law enforcement and public safety facility design many years of hands-on public safety service, having seen, utilized, assessed, and designed a multitude of public safety and firearms facilities all over the world. Danny has a keen appreciation for how these facilities impact the ability of law enforcement to effectively serve its communities.
His personal passion for public safety began early – participating in the Portsmouth (Virginia) Police Department’s Civilian Ride-Along Program during high school and college. After earning his Bachelor of Architecture from Hampton University, Danny was accepted as a member of the Portsmouth Auxiliary Police Unit and served in a variety of roles and levels of responsibility. He was honored as Auxiliary Officer of the Year three times before retiring as a lieutenant after nearly 30 years of volunteer service. Danny believes public service has immeasurable value and considers it a privilege to consult with those who keep our country and citizens safe. He also serves as an Advisory Board member for the Volunteer Law Enforcement Officer Alliance and volunteers with Law Enforcement United’s annual fundraiser bicycle ride to Washington, DC.
As a member of Clark Nexsen’s senior management team, Danny is involved in the strategic leadership of our firm. When he’s not working, he enjoys traveling, shooting at the range, volunteering in support of public safety, and spoiling his grandkids.
