Working as a joint-venture with SmithGroupJJR, Clark Nexsen provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, and civil engineering services for the Naval Hospital’s outpatient clinic addition. Designed to enhance patient access to care and improve efficiency of hospital operations, this addition also addresses deficiencies in existing departmental adjacencies, layout, and patient/staff circulation. Supported by Clark Nexsen’s extensive military and federal design experience, the work was designed, developed, and constructed in compliance with current DoD Unified Facility Criteria, base architectural guidelines, and anti-terrorism/force protection requirements.
Providing important outpatient services, the addition houses several clinics to include primary care, physical therapy, ENT/audiology, orthopedics, podiatry, chiropractic/sports medicine, optometry, ophthalmology, and the behavioral health clinic, as well as the emergency care department. Naval Outpatient Clinic Addition is tracking LEED Silver certification.
