Clark Nexsen developed the new BASF campus master plan for their RTP Global Center for Biotechnology and Agricultural Products. After years of ad hoc building additions and campus expansion initiatives, BASF recognized the need to develop a comprehensive master plan for their campus that would provide a framework for guiding future development.
Through a series of collaborative workshops, Clark Nexsen partnered with BASF to create a cohesive and interactive workplace campus that would attract and retain top talent. Due to the limited land coverage, we were able to develop different scenarios that efficiently utilized the site and promoted connectivity between current and proposed facilities. Collaboration areas throughout the site were also of utmost importance, allowing for the casual and serendipitous encounter that promotes innovative exchange.
The master plan was developed and refined throughout the entire process with BASF, and was constantly tested against their goals for the site. The end result was a collaborative site that promotes growth and partnership for all employees. Fran Rowland, Global Brand Communications Senior Manager for BASF Plant Science said, “North Carolina offers such a great quality of life for our employees and it’s a great hub for top talent. …That’s why we… are locating here, and why our business model of collaboration will continue.”
