Wes Parker Graduates from ACEC VA Emerging Leaders Institute
Wes Parker, PE, PTOE, Project Development Director – Transportation in our Virginia Beach office, has graduated from ACEC VA’s Emerging Leaders Institute. The ELI is a comprehensive program designed to support rising leaders by broadening their knowledge of the engineering industry and business best practices. With sessions led by industry leaders and recognized experts, the ELI focuses on issues typically not covered in academic or engineering programs but that are critical to the growth and success of engineering firms.
“I’ve been very fortunate to have participated in several leadership development programs over the years, and what I found especially valuable about ELI was its focus on leadership needs that are specific to the engineering community,” Wes shares, “I made new connections and friends through this program that will last many years.”
Wes has been part of the Clark Nexsen team for more than eight years, advancing from transportation engineer EIT, to transportation engineer, to senior transportation engineer, and now to his role as project development director and associate. He is also active in professional organizations and the community, serving as the 2020-2021 president of the Virginia Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (VASITE) and as vice president of camping operations for the Tidewater Council Boy Scouts since 2010.
