Susan Drew Receives Women in Business Achievement Award
Principal and Interior Design Department Director, Susan Drew, was recently honored with a Women in Business Achievement Award from Inside Business, the Hampton Roads Business Journal. Honorees for this award were selected by an independent panel of judges seeking to recognize businesswomen who demonstrated leadership and influence in their industries and are active community members, advocates and mentors.
Susan is a certified interior designer and LEED accredited professional with more than 25 years of design experience who serves as one of five female principals at Clark Nexsen. In that role, she aids in development of workplace policies that create opportunities for advancement of women at all levels and across all disciplines and market sectors. Those policies allow Susan and other principals to mentor and empower talented women and men for the continued success of Clark Nexsen.
A recipient of numerous awards for her work from the Virginia Chapter of American Society of Interior Designers and the Virginia/West Virginia chapter of the International Interior Design Association, Susan is committed to partnering with clients and colleagues to create transformational spaces. In collaboration with her colleagues in architecture and engineering disciplines, she focuses on green building design and the use of sustainable materials, minimizing the impact of the firm’s projects on natural resources.
She believes mentorship extends beyond the workplace and into our communities, where she works with STEM students in Virginia Beach Public Schools and at her alma mater, Virginia Tech, as well as other Virginia universities.
Susan offers an exceptional example of balance between professional and personal commitments while contributing to our community in meaningful ways. Clark Nexsen is proud to celebrate this Women in Business Achievement Award with her.
