SAY IT LOUD – North Carolina Exhibit and Event Series Launches

AIA North Carolina and NCNOMA are bringing the internationally recognized exhibition, SAY IT LOUD by Beyond the Built Environment, to North Carolina in 2021. Clark Nexsen is proud to be a premiere sponsor in supporting the exhibit and associated events.

SAY IT LOUD – North Carolina elevates the contributions of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and women designers, architects, engineers, and planners. The exhibition will be in two parts, starting with a virtual exhibit that went live in May 2021, followed by a physical exhibit to come in Spring 2022. Both will feature projects by more than 100 diverse students and design professionals in the state, as well as quotes and video interviews on their experiences in the architecture and design professions.

On May 11, 2020, a distinguished panel of BIPOC AIA Fellows kicked off the opening of the virtual exhibit with a discussion moderated by the SAY IT LOUD Founder, Pascale Sablan, FAIA. A recording of the panel discussion is available online. More virtual events are planned for the coming months – the next event will highlight some of the student submitters from across the state.
