Jennifer Heintz Named as NC State College of Design Leaders Council President

This summer, Jennifer Heintz, AIA, LEED AP, was named the Leaders Council President at NC State University’s College of Design. The Leaders Council, which was established in 2010, promotes the welfare of the College of Design through advocacy, fundraising, service, and engagement.

I’m incredibly honored to serve as the next Leaders Council President at the College of Design,” said Jennifer, Principal. “During my time on the Council, our advocacy and outreach have supported the College’s vision, pursuing excellence in design education, scholarship, and engagement, empowering a more just, healthy, resilient, flourishing, and sustainable future.

Jennifer, a Senior Architect based in our Raleigh office, has been involved with the Leaders Council for the past 14 years, most recently serving as the Events Committee Chair. In 2023, she served on the special task force for the College of Design’s 75th anniversary. Her new role as president, which has a two-year term limit, was approved by the Dean of the College of Design, Dr. Mark Hoversten, and the Leaders Council executive committee.

The leadership role adds to Jennifer’s exceptional career, which spans over 20 years. A veteran in public and private sector projects for higher education, K-12, recreational, and corporate clients, she has developed expertise in complex multi-phased projects with programs requiring accommodation and sensitive blending of new and historical structures. A graduate of NC State’s College of Design, her work includes the Craven and Crowell Quads Renovation at Duke University, Fitts-Woolard Hall at NC State, Joyner Park Community Center, and the Madera Cyber Innovation Center at the United States Air Force Academy.
