Clark Nexsen Donates $10,000 to Western Region Education Service Alliance WNC Schools Helene Recovery Fund for Giving Tuesday
In partnership with the Clark Nexsen Foundation, Clark Nexsen is proud to announce that it will be donating $10,000 to the Western Region Education Service Alliance (WRESA) Western North Carolina (WNC) Schools Helene Recovery Fund as part of its Giving Tuesday campaign.
“We were inspired by last year’s successful campaign, which resulted in $10,000 donated to the American Cancer Society,” said Susan Drew, CID, LEED AP, Principal, Director of Interiors, and Clark Nexsen Foundation Board Member. “We were more than happy to solidify the Giving Tuesday campaign as an annual event, and it was incredibly rewarding to see our employees come together to vote on deserving organizations for a second consecutive year.”
To celebrate the global generosity movement, each year a theme is chosen, organizations are nominated, and employees vote for which charity they wish to receive the $10,000 donation. This year’s campaign was centered on education, and the Clark Nexsen Foundation worked alongside the firm’s K-12 group to identify and nominate education-focused 501(c)(3) organizations. Once voting was complete, the WNC Schools Helene Recovery Fund finished with 70% of votes.
All five nominated organizations were dedicated to uplifting educators and their students through various initiatives, including funding for creative learning projects, professional development opportunities, and education equity. The winning organization, Western Region Education Service Alliance (WRESA) WNC Schools Helene Recovery Fund, is providing aid to schools affected by Hurricane Helene by addressing physical damage and the loss of supplies, technology, and housing. This campaign marks the second year that Clark Nexsen and the Clark Nexsen Foundation have hosted this event and will result in $20,000 donated to charitable organizations in honor of Giving Tuesday.
