Bob Burkholder Selected to the ACEC College of Fellows

Bob Burkholder, PE, LEED AP, has been selected to become a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) College of Fellows for 2024 and was recognized during the organization’s annual Fall Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.   

“It is such an honor to be selected to the ACEC College of Fellows,” said Bob, Principal. “Throughout my career, I have always enjoyed giving back to the A/E community and STEM programs. Being recognized for those efforts is amazing, and being selected as a Fellow will further enhance my ability to help and advocate for others in engineering.”  

Bob joins an elite group of approximately 150 Fellows who have been recognized by their peers for their contributions to the ACEC and the engineering profession. Comprised of distinguished engineering leaders within the ACEC and their communities, the College of Fellows helps enhance the engineering profession by undertaking activities including recognition programs, outreach through scholarship, and unique educational opportunities.    

This recognition adds to Bob’s illustrious career. A Clark Nexsen employee for over 29 years, Bob has led a variety of project types, including GIS, land development, waterfront engineering, utility and stormwater master plans, smart grid, and parks and recreation elements. A former U.S. Navy Seabee, Bob has served private and public clients that have taken him to five of the seven continents, providing him a vast knowledge of designing civil projects to diverse criteria and site conditions.  

He is involved in various organizations and is the Membership Committee Chair of the Old Dominion University Civil and Environmental Engineering Council, a charter board member of the Unmanned Systems Association of Virginia, a board member of Resilient Virginia, and a University of Richmond Customer Experience Advisory Committee member. He has served as the past president and national director for ACEC Virginia. In addition to the ACEC, Bob is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Society of American Military Engineers.
